About Jenny, Rose, and P.S. Draft in Progress

Jenny and Rose are on a mission to stay human, creative, and sane (loosely defined).

In 2019, we started writing to each other about poetry, art, sobriety, and relationships. This year, we’re inviting you to pull up a chair and join our conversation.

Our Substack is a series of letters to each other and to you, our readers. You’ll find gentleness, humor, and unoptimized honesty here. Also chaos, updates on projects we haven’t polished, and a potentially unhealthy number of seltzers and postscripts.

Jenny has published two books of poetry. She is a social worker by day. By night, she helps her family’s hermit crabs achieve self actualization and revises her third poetry manuscript. She lives with her husband, B, and her son, T. He’s the wisest, kindest teenager in the world.

Rose is a freelance communications strategist when she’s on LinkedIn. Everywhere else, she’s a doodler who makes her own sketchbooks and has an obsession with goats. Rose is newly dating a man named M. She actually likes him, much to her own surprise. Her best friend is called O.

We are both sober — Jenny celebrated eleven years recently, Rose has five, but staying or getting sober during the pandemic counts for double, so really we’re at 22 and 10 years, respectively.

We would share a picture of the two of us together, but we’ve never met.
